Grasp a fundamental understanding of a field from a couple of core papers

Ideas originate in a couple of important articles, then flourish in different flavors amongst the scientific literature. Citation Tree gives a quick visualization of that citation tree. This is useful to get an overview of a new field, to spot important papers and to accelerate your bibliography. We use data from OpenAlex.

How to use

• Citation Tree searches for papers in the citation environment of the input, then displays only the most central ones.
• The darker nodes are previous papers at distance 1 from the input; the lighter nodes are previous papers at distance 2, and papers that cite the input.
• Click a node to open the paper. Export the tree as SVG, RIS or BibTeX with the buttons under the tree.
